Lawrence “Lonnie” Caffrey, LCSW



Lonnie Caffrey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned his under graduate degree in Elementary Special Education and Masters in Social Work degree from Rhode Island College. He has worked within the field of Social Work for over 25 years beginning his career working with the Special Needs Populations and community based work. Lonnie has specialized in Clinical Social Work since 2005 when be began developing his knowledge in addiction behavior working with the State of RI in the tobacco cessation program assisting individuals and groups to break their addition to nicotine.  Lonnie became certified in the State of Connecticut to work with Co-Occurring Disorders working with all ages challenged with behavioral and mental health issues such as anger depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction issues in both individual and group setting. Lonnie believes change is possible and begins with investing in oneself. Lonnie blends an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing Behavior therapy and as well as Cognitive behavioral strategies focusing on individual strengths to foster and promote positive change
